I chose this picture because of the death of Simon. Simon is characterized as a “spiritual human goodness that is deeply connected with nature and, in its own way, as primal as Jack’s evil.” As Simon dies the author portrays him leaving this cruel and harsh world through nature, which in this case is by the waves on the ocean shore.
I chose this picture of the broken conch because it displays the loss of order but more importantly the loss of innocence. The broken conch is a direct correlation to broken hopes and shattered dreams. As the shell breaks so does Piggy’s helpless body and at that moment marked the end of innocence and of no return back to civility.
I chose this Because Simon was referred to as a savior and I found it ironic that in the novel he talked to the devil. I put the upside down cross as opposed to the regular cross because that is one of the universal sign of the devil and in my eyes I felt that the devil prevailed.
